The volume of LNG imports into Japan has been greatly increasing over the past decade, with increased imports from Australia and Qatar inparticular. This report on LNG and City Gas in Japan provives a good insight into the current state of the City Gas industry.

China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC), the country’s biggest oil and gas producer, plans to deepen its cut on methane emissions and set a more ambitious pledge than its previous commitment to the Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI).

Eleven industry majors including AWS, Carrefour Group, CMA CGM Group, Cluster Maritime Français, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank, Engie, Faurecia, Michelin, Schneider Electric, Total and Wärtsilä have formed a coalition for the energy of the future.

Qatargas Operating Co Ltd has delivered its first cargo of LNG on a Q-Flex LNG carrier to the Adriatic LNG receiving terminal in Italy. The cargo, aboard the Qatargas-chartered LNG vessel Tembek, was loaded at Ras Laffan on 9 June 2020 and delivered to the Adriatic LNG terminal on 21 June 2020. It is the first cargo discharge operation by Qatargas to the Adriatic LNG terminal involving a Q-Flex LNG carrier.

CNOOC Limited announced Monday that the company has made a “significant” discovery in the eastern south China sea. Huizhou 26-6, which is situated in Huizhou Sag in the Zhu1 Depression of the Pearl River Mouth Basin, encountered oil and gas pay zones with a total thickness of approximately 1,385 feet, according to CNOOC.
